A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to go and visit with some "long-time" friends. They are from our first "full-time" church out of Seminary. (We moved there in 1982.)
We had such a wonderful time.... It is amazing how real friendships last. It has been FOREVER since we were all together...and we just seemed to pick up where we were last. I love it.
Kindred Spirits. I think that is what Anne of Green Gables calls it.
Blessed. That was how I felt as we drove home on that Friday night. Blessed years ago to have them a part of our every day life. Blessed all these years to call them friends. Real friends. We do not see each other often...but I have no doubt that if I called any one of them with a need... they would be there in an instant. Same for us.
I love you guys... Our lives are richer because of you!

Wow! I just read your blog after posting my own blog about friends. Pretty amazing to see God moving the same way for both of us! Neat. Glad you had a good time with your friends.
Wow, that's like looking at a Brookhaven yearbook or something! I would ask how old Richard and Daphne's kids are now, but then I'd feel ancient cause I used to babysit them all the time. :)
It's great that you are all still so close.
Um.. I just realized that if you were going for anonymity here I just blew the whole thing. Sorry.
It is always so nice to reconnect with friends. Glad you got to spend a wonderful time with friends.
Friends like that truly are a blessing... we had a friend like that visit last week...
Blessings
It is great to be blessed with friends like that. We are going to visit a pastor friend of ours in South Carolina for the 4th of July and I cannot wait. They were there and encouraged us when we first started growing spiritually. Friends like that are priceless.
