WFW # 11 Coming Home

3) I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,
4) always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
8) For God is my witness,
how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9) And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more,
with knowledge and all discernment,
10) so that you may approve what is excellent,
and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
11) filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ,
to the glory and praise of God.
Julia and Ronnie are coming home....
It has been since the wedding in August since I have SEEN them.
That is entirely toooooooooooo long for this mom.
I can hardly wait!
The closer it gets, the more excited I get.
Cooking, Cleaning, and going to Edgars Bakery :)
All of my Chicks will be here in my nest for a little while.
Joy- pure Joy for this mom.

WFW # 10 Remembering Homecoming

There really are no words to describe how you feel when your VETERAN arrives back at home. But the scripture that we claimed for the entire deployment filled our minds and hearts. (As they ran out our eyes.) This week is a wonderful time to remember... to thank... to pray for those still serving (some in harm's way).

All of Psalms 91 - but for today - particularily these verses...

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge-
10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
3 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Gonna Be a BEAR

In this life, I’m a Woman.
In my next life,
I’d like to come back as a bear.

When you’re a bear, you get to hibernate.
You do nothing but sleep for six months.
I could deal with that.

Before you hibernate,
you’re supposed to eat yourself stupid.
I could deal with that too.

When you’re a girl bear,
you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts)
while you are sleeping.
And you wake to partially grown, cute, cuddly cubs.
I could definitely deal with that.

If you’re a momma bear,
everyone knows you mean business.
You swat anyone who bothers your cubs.
If your cubs get out of line,
you swat them too.
Oh I could deal with that.

If you’re a bear,
Your mate expects you to wake up growling
He expects you to have hairy legs
and excess body fat.

YEP, gonna be a bear!

I received this several years ago from a friend. I do not know the if any of you do... please tell me and I will credit it to them. However, I love it!

I am sharing this with the ladies here on Saturday morning, and thought you might enjoy it too.
(Certainly not my text LOL... just a "funny" to share!)

Have a great day!

Traveling Light ...

I am writing this from the plane on the way to Port Charlotte, Florida. We are going to be leading a marriage/parenting conference this weekend.

And I feel a need to tell about our adventure this morning. Remember when I confessed about being a pack-a-holic? Addictions die hard. I really tried to plan well for this trip. I did.

I mentally went through each day and decided what I would wear. I only planned to take one extra outfit for an emergency – or a change of plans. I really scaled back on the book bag – since I wanted to bring my computer with me. I would only take the books that would fit in the computer bag. I was so proud as I went to bed on Wednesday (even though it was around midnight!) ** Note, Scripture tells us that pride comes before the fall**

When I got up this morning at 4:00 – and started getting ready to leave… The panic set in.

I just had to add one more jacket, two pair of capris, two more shirts, another necklace and pair of earrings. The new outfits demanded another pair of shoes. And there were a couple of other books that I HAD to take. We ARE leading a conference. I really must have what I needed with me.

So, that lead to the dilemma of the suitcase not zipping. No problem. We are allowed two checked baggages. I would just get another one and quickly rearrange a few items.

And we were on our way…and I still felt good about my preparations. A little panic, but nothing major … right??

Arrived at the airport just a few minutes later than we (Hal) desired. The parking deck was extremely full. It took forever to find a parking place, and when we did… we had to walk a LONG way to the terminal. Time was ticking quickly. We get to the ticket counter, and the screen says it is too late for checked baggages. WHAT?? The attendant says she can get it through. Then we are told that we are only allowed one checked baggage each. The other two would cost $50.00 each - $100.00!!!! WHAT AGAIN????

We quickly decided that one suitcase was small enough to be Hal’s carry-on. At least we would reduce the amount by $50.00... That is – if the credit card is credited correctly…

We made it to the plane – just barely. And now as I am riding, I am just hoping that the luggage did in fact make it. And if not… I will really have an interesting story for you, huh?

And I thought I had done so well. I really did.

Sharing our Evening at DISNEY ON ICE

We had a wonderful time....

So, I share a few pictures of the evening.

Aubrey is waiting patiently...

Here she is calling,

And they arrive ... In all their glory!!!

Granddaddy, Granna, Mom, Aubrey and Dad...Mom, Aubrey Dad, Momma Dee and PoppaCAN YOU TELL THAT SHE IS EXCITED! It was a good evening...

But I have to tell you - After a trip to the Christmas Section at LOWES last Wednesday with Granna... that has become the new favorite place to go!

So, when Poppa came into her SS Class yesterday to get her to tell her teacher about the night at Disney On Ice... He said, "Aubrey, tell Mrs. Tami where you went last night." (Thinking that she would want to tell all about this wonderful evening that we all spent together.)

She proclaimed, "LOWES" or in her words, "ROWES". LOL We could have saved all of us a lot of money- had we just gone to Chick-fil-A and picked up a quick supper and then made a trip to ROWES.

If only we had known.

OH, the life of a 2 1/2 year old.... and her silly parents and grand-parents trying to entertain. Our style.

Regardless, we DID have a good time. Just did not make the impression on her that it did on all of us.

So, today we are on our way to 'ROWES'.

Just thought you would want to know.

Just a quick note to tell you all that we are going to Disney on Ice tonight!
Momma Dee and Poppa
Granna and Granddaddy
Mom and Dad
......and Aubrey!!!

What fun... I think I am more excited than she is .... and that is saying a lot!

I am sure that I will have pictures later... and MOM too.

But I just had to tell you.

Cause I knew you would want to know.
