Family Readiness Group AGAIN

Well, whether I like it or not, the journey begins again.

Today is the first meeting with our Family Readiness Group for Jonathan's Deployment to Afghanistan.

When we did this in the spring of 2007, Rhonda (the leader of that FRG) had tears in her eyes as she talked to us. It was going to be her husband's third deployment. I NOW UNDERSTAND WHY.

I have tears in my eyes as I type this.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I know that God is faithful. I know that he is in God's hands. I know that God will give grace for the journey... for Jonathan, for Brantley, for us... I know all of that.

But like I said before... I just do not want to walk this road again. I just do not.

Pray that I will not "fall apart" today at the meeting. Pray that I will be able to be a witness of the grace of our Lord for the other wives/mothers/sisters/friends of the guys that are going on this assignment.

But it will be ok if I have tears in my eyes...

DeeDee...we've been there. My brother has served over there twice. He leaves for another country this month. We just haven't been told when.

We trust our God to be the same where he will be going as He is right here....I trust Him for yours too.

Praying with you dear one.

Praying for you and for him. I know this is in my future after DS finishes his AIT training and I am so thankful they have coping strategies and groups in place.

One of my best friends of over 25 years is about to experience her son's second deployment to Iraq. He and his wife have just had a baby. the baby will be six weeks old when he leaves again. Last time he was deployed for 14 months. He re-enlisted and is being sent over again.

It is with an empathetic heart that I will join you in prayer.

Praying....a hard spot to be in. Praying God's hand on each family member.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Hope you will stop by again soon.
I am going to have a "card box" giveaway every month. This drawing will be the last day of April.
Every comment you leave throughout the month will enter your name in the drawing, so if you visit several times and leave several comments, you will have a better chance to win. This NEW blogger was so touched by all the comments I got on the Blog Party, that I decided to make this a monthly GIFT...
Also, if you link to my blog telling about the monthly giveaway, you will have your name entered 10 extra times...How is that for an incentive?
I was so blown away by all the responses that I wanted to email each person personally, but TIME... just has not permitted..but I did love reading all of them..I am continuing to introduce my family members and then there will be some fun blogs coming up from Disney World in May. I am so thankful for all my new friends.

Celebrating the empty tomb,

I'm sorry I'm just reading this today. I was not at church yesterday so I didn't know what you were headed for. I do not wish for you to go down this road again either! My heart hurts for you-- A mamma's perspective is so different from a wife's. I will be praying for you!! ( and the wife too):)

DeeDee, I am so sorry you are having to go down this road. Getting a glimpse of your Mother-heart in this just makes me tear up. I know you are so proud of your son on such a personal level. I am proud of him for serving and protecting our country in one of the most valuable ways ever. I know this journey is one of uncertainty for his future and I am praying that God provides safety for him and his group during this deployment. Tears in your eyes are normal, I would hazard to guess. Oh my stars. How I will be praying for him and for you.
